Array-in-Well (AiW) Multiplex Assay Platform

The Array-in-well (AiW) platform is a high-throughput array-based multiplex assay platform that offers a sample-saving alternative to replacing or complementing ELISA in serological analyses.

The AiW platform consists of dot arrays printed at the bottom of microtiter plate wells. Each well can contain nearly a hundred dots of different bio-affinity reagents, such as antibodies, antigens, peptides, and oligonucleotides, enabling the simultaneous detection of multiple analytes. The AIW platform is beneficial in large-scale screening studies due to its simple operation (microtiter plate format), high degree of multiplexing (up to 88-plex), high throughput (parallel processing of 96 samples per plate), low cost per data point and low sample requirement (< 1 µl serum). Additionally, the platform is customizable for specific research needs.

Instructions

The AiW plates are manufactured at VTT, and the assay can be conducted either at VTT or in the cohort owner’s laboratory. Following assay completion, the plates are scanned at VTT to generate fluorescence images of the microarray spots. Subsequently, the image analysis data is preprocessed at VTT, and the results are sent to the cohort owners or data processors for further data analysis and result interpretation.
